Summer weekends in Bristol you don’t want to miss

written on 24/07/2019 3:24pm
Festival season is year long in Bristol, and Summer is just the highlight! Having kicked off the season of gin and tonics in the sunshine and dancing (well or otherwise) in public to your hearts content, we’ve already been celebrating the Harbour Festival, St. Paul’s Carnival and Love Saves the Day to name a few!

August brings some of Bristol’s best and most loved festivals that everyone can enjoy, so book your accommodation sooner rather than later to avoid missing out!

1. Valley Fest (2nd - 4th of August)

This tasty weekend is serving up the best in food and drink that the South West has to offer! Not far out from the city, Valley Fest is one big party stuffed full of great music, great food and great scenery. With headliners this year including Tom Odell and Razorlight, along with the best of Bristol’s street food and tapas scene, you’ll be in for a fabulous weekend!

2. Bristol International Balloon Fiesta (8th - 11th of August)

Bristol’s biggest and best festival is back and is flying high! An iconic weekend in every local’s calendar, watch the balloons rise above the city and enjoy some delicious food and fun while you’re on the ground. 100s of hot air balloons take to the skies each year for a real spectacle that Bristolians are proud of every year - make sure you don’t miss it!

4. The Downs Festival (31st of August and 1st of September)

DownsFestival

Bringing the summer to a close is the always popular Downs Festival, held on the green of The Downs in Clifton.  This year sees some huge acts take to the stage, including Ms Lauryn Hill, Loyal Carner, Madness and even Grace Jones! We can’t think of a more perfect way to end the summer season than with incredible music, food and drink, and (fingers crossed!) some lush weather!
